Marine Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Squadron 1 (VMU-1), the Watchdogs, deployed as part of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, providing unmanned aerial intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capability. This PVC patch commemorates that deployment. VMU-1's operators fly unmanned systems that provide persistent surveillance over areas of interest, giving the MEU commander real-time intelligence that informs tactical decisions. The Watchdogs' UAS platforms extend the MEU's eyes far beyond what manned aircraft and ground forces can observe alone.
