Officially Licensed VMTB-454 Patch — Marine Torpedo Bombing Squadron 454 WWII-Era Embroidered Patch

VMTB-454 — another link in the chain of Marine torpedo bomber squadrons that fought across the Pacific.

VMTB-454 was a Marine Torpedo Bombing squadron activated during World War II, operating the TBF/TBM Avenger torpedo bomber. Marine torpedo bombing squadrons of this era formed a critical component of Marine aviation's strike capability, attacking enemy shipping, conducting bombing missions, and providing close air support for ground forces during the island-hopping campaigns. The Avenger could carry a single torpedo, up to 2,000 pounds of bombs, or a loadout of rockets, giving squadron commanders tremendous flexibility in mission planning. VMTB-454 contributed to the massive Marine aviation effort that helped secure victory in the Pacific.

Perfect For:
VMTB-454 veterans and descendants, WWII Marine torpedo bombing squadron historians, TBF/TBM Avenger enthusiasts, Pacific campaign aviation collectors, and vintage USMC squadron patch collectors.

VMTB-454. Torpedo bombers.
