**Officially Licensed USMC VMM-362 Ugly Angels Sticker — Marine Tiltrotor Squadron Vinyl Sticker**

VMM-362 Ugly Angels — the first Marine aircraft squadron to set boots in South Vietnam. When Lt. Col. Archie Clapp's "Archie's Angels" hit Sóc Trăng in 1962, the nickname got rougher and the legend got permanent.

VMM-362, the "Ugly Angels," was originally established as HMR-362 on April 20, 1952, at MCAS Santa Ana, California. In April 1962, the squadron made history as the first Marine helicopter unit deployed to South Vietnam, landing UH-34D Seahorses at Sóc Trăng Airfield in the Mekong Delta under Operation Shufly to support ARVN forces against the Viet Cong. Commanded by Lt. Col. Archie Clapp, the unit earned the nickname "Archie's Angels," which evolved into "Ugly Angels." The squadron served multiple Vietnam tours, transitioned to the CH-53D Sea Stallion, and saw action in Desert Storm, Haiti, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Deactivated in November 2012, VMM-362 was reactivated in August 2018 as an MV-22B Osprey squadron at MCAS Miramar under Marine Aircraft Group 16, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, achieving full operational capability in February 2020.
