Officially Licensed USMC VMM-262 (REIN) Black/Glow PVC Patch — Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 (Reinforced) PVC Patch

The Flying Tigers glow in the dark—VMM-262 (REIN), the Marine Corps' forward-deployed tiltrotor squadron in Okinawa, represented in this striking black and glow PVC patch.

Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 (VMM-262), the "Flying Tigers," is the United States Marine Corps' only permanently forward-deployed medium tiltrotor squadron, based at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan, under Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force. The Flying Tigers operate the MV-22B Osprey and serve as the Aviation Combat Element (ACE) for the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit—the only permanently forward-deployed MEU in the Marine Corps—making VMM-262 one of the most operationally active tiltrotor squadrons in the world.

The "(REIN)" designation indicates VMM-262 Reinforced—meaning the squadron deploys with additional aviation assets attached, typically including detachments from heavy helicopter, light attack helicopter, and attack squadrons that together form the complete Aviation Combat Element of the 31st MEU. This reinforced configuration gives the MEU commander a full spectrum of aviation capabilities including assault support, close air support, armed reconnaissance, heavy lift, and casualty evacuation—all operating from the flight decks of amphibious assault ships.

VMM-262's strategic positioning in Okinawa places the Flying Tigers within rapid response range of potential crisis areas across the entire Western Pacific and Indian Ocean regions. The squadron has participated in numerous humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations, including typhoon relief in the Philippines and earthquake response across the Pacific Rim. This black and glow PVC patch features the squadron's iconic Flying Tiger design with glow-in-the-dark elements, adding a tactical edge to the classic insignia that has represented forward-deployed Marine tiltrotor aviation in the Pacific.

Perfect For: VMM-262 Flying Tigers members and veterans, 31st MEU ACE personnel, MAG-36 and 1st MAW service members, MCAS Futenma Marines, MV-22 Osprey community members, and PVC glow patch collectors.

The Flying Tigers of VMM-262—permanently forward, always ready, glowing in the Pacific night as America's first-response tiltrotor squadron in the Indo-Pacific.
