**Officially Licensed VMM-261 Raging Bulls Sticker — Marine Tiltrotor Squadron Vinyl Sticker**
VMM-261 Raging Bulls — the squadron that provided the only helicopters for the initial landings during the invasion of Grenada. When the Army's birds hadn't arrived yet, the Bulls were already hauling Marines ashore.
VMM-261, the "Raging Bulls," was commissioned on April 5, 1951, as Marine Helicopter Transport Squadron 261 (HMR-261) at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina — the third-oldest helicopter squadron in the Marine Corps. The Bulls deployed to Vietnam in 1963 and again in 1965–66, flying UH-34D helicopters out of Da Nang and Marble Mountain, logging 11,859 combat hours, 38,090 combat sorties, and medevacing 2,315 wounded — with 273 hits on their helicopters in a single tour. In 1982, the squadron deployed to Beirut, Lebanon, and in October 1983 was diverted to Grenada for Operation Urgent Fury. The Bulls transitioned to the CH-46 Sea Knight, then became the fourth USMC squadron to receive the MV-22B Osprey. Based at MCAS New River, North Carolina, VMM-261 serves under Marine Aircraft Group 26, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing.
