This patch represents the Maintenance Phase inspection qualification within Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 164 (VMM-164), the "Knightriders." Phase maintenance is one of the most comprehensive scheduled maintenance events in Marine aviation — a periodic, in-depth inspection and overhaul of an aircraft that goes far beyond routine daily or turnaround maintenance. During phase, maintainers essentially disassemble major portions of the aircraft, inspecting structural components, replacing worn parts, repairing corrosion, updating modification compliance, and conducting functional checks of all systems.
