**Officially Licensed USMC VMM-162 Golden Eagles Sticker — Marine Tiltrotor Squadron Vinyl Sticker**

VMM-162 Golden Eagles — the squadron that evacuated 2,600 civilians from war-torn Liberia and was the first to use the MV-22 Osprey for humanitarian relief after the Haiti earthquake. Eagles don't wait for orders — they fly.

VMM-162, the "Golden Eagles," was activated on June 30, 1951, as Marine Helicopter Transport Squadron 162 at Marine Corps Air Facility Santa Ana, California. The squadron deployed to Vietnam multiple times between 1963 and 1965, flying combat operations out of Da Nang and Nha Trang. In 1983, HMM-162 deployed to Beirut, Lebanon, providing critical helicopter support during the devastating barracks bombing. The Golden Eagles participated in Operation Sharp Edge in Liberia, evacuating 226 Americans and 2,400 foreign nationals, then served in Somalia, Bosnia, and the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Reactivated in August 2006 as the second operational Osprey squadron in the Marine Corps, VMM-162 deployed to Iraq in 2008 and was diverted to Haiti in 2010 for the first-ever Osprey humanitarian mission. Based at MCAS New River, VMM-162 serves under Marine Aircraft Group 26, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing.
