VMGR-452 Yankees Patch
Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 452 (VMGR-452) "Yankees"
VMGR-452, known as the "Yankees," is a Marine Corps Reserve aerial refueling and transport squadron operating the KC-130J Super Hercules. Based at Stewart Air National Guard Base in Newburgh, New York, the squadron falls under the command of Marine Aircraft Group 41 and the 4th Marine Aircraft Wing. The Yankees are the only Marine Corps Reserve KC-130 squadron on the East Coast, providing critical aerial refueling and assault support transport capabilities to augment active-duty forces.
The KC-130J Super Hercules provides the Marines with multi-mission capability including aerial refueling of both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, tactical transport of troops and cargo, medical evacuation, and aerial delivery operations. VMGR-452 regularly deploys in support of Marine Expeditionary Units, major exercises, and contingency operations worldwide. The squadron's citizen-Marines maintain the same high standards of readiness as their active-duty counterparts, training regularly to ensure seamless integration with the total force when called upon.
The "Yankees" nickname reflects the squadron's proud New York heritage, and its members carry forward the tradition of Marine Corps reserve aviation excellence that has served the nation since World War II, ensuring that vital aerial refueling and transport capabilities remain available to extend the reach and endurance of Marine aviation.
Perfect For: VMGR-452 Yankees veterans, KC-130J Hercules crews, Marine Corps Reserve aviators, 4th MAW personnel, New York-based Marines, and aerial refueling aviation collectors.
Celebrating the Yankees, whose Reserve Marines ensure that Marine aviation can reach farther, stay longer, and fight harder through the vital mission of aerial refueling and tactical transport.
