**Officially Licensed USMC VMFP-3 Eyes of the Corps Sticker — Marine Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron Vinyl Sticker**

VMFP-3 — alone, unarmed, and unafraid. The "Eyes of the Corps" flew the RF-4B Phantom II into harm's way to bring back the pictures that made the mission possible.

VMFP-3, the "Eyes of the Corps," was activated on July 1, 1975, at MCAS El Toro, California, as part of 3rd MAW. The squadron consolidated all Marine Corps RF-4B Phantom II reconnaissance assets under one roof, inheriting the legacy of three Marine Composite Reconnaissance Squadrons (VMCJ-1, 2, and 3) that had flown photo and electronic reconnaissance missions since 1955 — including combat operations over Vietnam. VMFP-3's RF-4Bs carried multi-sensor imagery systems including forward-looking cameras, horizon-to-horizon low-altitude cameras, infrared sensors, and side-looking airborne radar. A six-plane detachment was permanently deployed aboard USS Midway (CV-41) from 1975 to 1984 as part of Carrier Air Wing Five, providing continuous reconnaissance coverage across the Western Pacific including three Indian Ocean deployments during the Iranian hostage crisis. The squadron was deactivated on July 1, 1990, when the ATARS pod on the F/A-18D assumed the tactical reconnaissance mission.
