Officially Licensed VMF(N)-513 Flying Nightmares Squadron Patch — Marine Night Fighter Squadron 513 Korean War-Era Embroidered Patch

The Flying Nightmares — the squadron that scored the first jet-versus-jet night aerial victory in history.

VMF(N)-513 "Flying Nightmares" was one of the Marine Corps' pioneering night fighter squadrons. During the Korean War, they flew the F7F Tigercat and later the F3D Skyknight in radar-guided night intercept missions against North Korean and Chinese aircraft. VMF(N)-513 achieved a remarkable distinction — their F3D Skyknights shot down more enemy aircraft at night than any other type, including the first jet-versus-jet night aerial victory in history. The Skyknight crews used early airborne radar to find and destroy enemy aircraft in total darkness, a revolutionary capability that changed aerial warfare. The Flying Nightmares later transitioned to the attack role as VMA-513.

Perfect For:
VMF(N)-513 Flying Nightmares veterans, Korean War aviation historians, F3D Skyknight collectors, night fighter enthusiasts, radar intercept community fans, and USMC legacy squadron patch collectors.

Flying Nightmares. VMF(N)-513. Nightmares don't sleep.
