**Officially Licensed USMC VMFAT-101 Sharpshooters F-18 Hornet Sticker — Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron Vinyl Sticker**

Fighter Attack Starts Here. VMFAT-101 made every Marine Hornet pilot. If you flew the F/A-18 in the Corps, the Sharpshooters taught you how.

VMFAT-101, the "Sharpshooters," was commissioned on January 3, 1969, at MCAS El Toro, California, initially training Marine and Navy aircrews in the F-4 Phantom II. During 18 years with the Phantom, the Sharpshooters amassed over 125,000 flight hours and earned the Robert M. Hanson Award as the finest fighter squadron in Marine aviation in 1983. In 1987, the squadron transitioned to the F/A-18 Hornet and became the Marine Corps' dedicated Fleet Replacement Squadron, operating over 60 aircraft from MCAS Miramar — the largest F/A-18 squadron in the Corps. The Sharpshooters were deactivated on September 29, 2023, as the Marine Corps completed its transition to the F-35B Lightning II.
