**Officially Licensed USMC VMFA-351 Sticker — Marine Fighter Attack Squadron Vinyl Sticker**
VMFA-351 — from hunting V-1 rockets over Europe to flying Corsairs off escort carriers at Okinawa, this reserve squadron punched well above its weight.
VMFA-351 traces its origins to Marine Observation Squadron 351 (VMO-351), activated on March 1, 1943, at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina. The squadron trained for Operation Crossbow — a plan to attack German V-1 rocket sites from carriers — before the mission was cancelled. Redesignated VMF-351 in February 1945, the squadron flew F4U Corsairs from USS Cape Gloucester during the Battle of Okinawa, providing aerial cover for minesweeping operations and bomber strikes in the East China Sea. Reactivated as part of the Marine Air Reserve in 1946 at NAS Atlanta, Georgia, the squadron transitioned through AD-4 Skyraiders, FJ-4 Furies, and F-8 Crusaders over the following decades. Briefly redesignated VMFA-351 after transitioning to the F-4 Phantom in 1977, the squadron was decommissioned the following year.
