**Officially Licensed USMC VMFA-451 Warlords Sticker — Marine Fighter Attack Squadron Vinyl Sticker**
The Warlords of VMFA-451 — the first Marine unit to put ordnance on Iraqi forces when Desert Storm kicked off at 0300 on January 17, 1991.
VMFA-451, the "Warlords," traces its lineage to VMF-451, activated during World War II. The squadron became the first Marine unit to receive the FH-1 Phantom jet in 1947, becoming the first Marine jet squadron and forming the Marines' first and only aerial demonstration team — the "Marine Phantoms" or "Flying Leathernecks." After transitioning through FJ Furies, F-8 Crusaders, and F-4 Phantoms, VMFA-451 accepted the F/A-18 Hornet in 1987. In August 1990, the Warlords deployed to Bahrain for Desert Shield, and at 0300 on January 17, 1991, became the first Marine unit to attack Iraqi forces in Operation Desert Storm. The squadron set a safety record of 29,000 accident-free hours in the Phantom and earned the 1988 Hanson Award. Deactivated in 1997, their legacy continues as VMFAT-501 training F-35B crews.
