Officially Licensed USMC VMFA-333 Trip Trey Patch — Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 333 Embroidered Patch
Trip Trey — VMFA-333's F-4 Phantom and F-8 Crusader legacy over Vietnam.
VMFA-333 "Trip Trey" (also known as the "Shamrocks") was a Marine fighter attack squadron with a distinguished combat record spanning multiple conflicts. Commissioned during the Korean War, VMFA-333 earned fame flying the F-8 Crusader and later the F-4 Phantom II. The squadron saw extensive combat during the Vietnam War, where Trip Trey Phantom crews flew dangerous missions over North Vietnam, providing MiGCAP, strike escort, and close air support. VMFA-333 crews faced surface-to-air missiles, anti-aircraft artillery, and enemy MiG fighters in some of the most heavily defended airspace in history. The squadron was deactivated in 1992.
