VMFA-235 Death Angels 1979 Squadron Patch — USMC Marine Fighter Attack Squadron Iran Hostage Crisis Embroidered Patch
The same design. The same resolve. Created in 1979 when the Death Angels were ready to fly into Iran.
This patch reproduces the original artwork created by Harold Newell, a Marine with VMFA-235 during the Iran Hostage Crisis. When Iranian revolutionaries seized the U.S. Embassy in Tehran on November 4, 1979, Marine fighter attack squadrons across the fleet went on heightened alert. The Death Angels — flying F-4 Phantoms at the time — stood ready for whatever mission came down. This design was born from that moment, and this patch is a faithful reproduction of the original.
