4.5" Patch

Officially Licensed USMC VMFA-142 Flying Gators Patch — Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 142 Embroidered Patch

The Flying Gators — VMFA-142's Marine Reserve fighter attack legacy from Florida.

VMFA-142 "Flying Gators" was a Marine Reserve fighter attack squadron based at NAS Cecil Field in Jacksonville, Florida, and later NAS Atlanta. The Flying Gators operated the F-4 Phantom II and later transitioned to the F/A-18A Hornet before the squadron was deactivated in 2008. As a Reserve squadron, VMFA-142 maintained full combat readiness while drawing aviators from the civilian workforce — pilots who flew commercial airlines or held professional careers during the week and strapped into tactical jets on drill weekends. The Flying Gators deployed for numerous exercises and operational commitments, proving that Reserve fighter attack squadrons could seamlessly integrate with active-duty forces.

Perfect For:
VMFA-142 Flying Gators veterans, Marine Reserve aviation community, F/A-18 Hornet pilots and crews, NAS Cecil Field alumni, and Florida-based USMC patch collectors.

Flying Gators. VMFA-142. Gators bite hard.
