**Officially Licensed USMC VMFA-112 Cowboys Sticker — Marine Reserve Fighter Attack Squadron Vinyl Sticker**
VMFA-112 Cowboys — the last Marine squadron to fly the F-4 Phantom, the first Reserve squadron to deploy WestPac since Korea, and the last fighter/attack squadron to leave Iraq. These Texas-based reservists don't do anything halfway.
Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 112 (VMFA-112), the "Cowboys," is a reserve F/A-18 Hornet squadron based at NAS JRB Fort Worth, Texas, under Marine Aircraft Group 41, 4th Marine Aircraft Wing. Originally activated as VMF-112 on 1 March 1942, the squadron earned 140 aerial kills during WWII as the "Wolfpack" — third among all Marine squadrons. Resurrected as a reserve unit at NAS Dallas in 1946, the squadron adopted the "Cowboys" name in 1967. Flying the F-8 Crusader and then the F-4 Phantom II, VMFA-112 became the last Marine squadron to fly the Phantom when they retired the F-4S on 18 January 1992. The Cowboys transitioned to F/A-18A Hornets and became the first Reserve squadron to deploy on a Western Pacific exercise since the Korean War. In 2009, the Cowboys deployed to Al Asad, Iraq and became the last fighter/attack squadron to leave Iraq, closing that chapter of the war.
