VMF-232 "Red Devils" was a Marine fighter squadron with combat service stretching from World War II through Korea. The Red Devils flew F4U Corsairs and later jet fighters, providing air superiority and close air support. The Red Devils lineage continues today as VMFA-232, which has operated the F/A-18 Hornet. VMF-232 earned battle honors in the Pacific during WWII and again during the Korean War.
