**Officially Licensed USMC VMAT-203 Hawks Sticker — Marine Attack Training Squadron Vinyl Sticker**
VMAT-203 — the Hawks wrote the book on Harrier operations in the Marine Corps. If you flew the jump jet, the Hawks trained you.
VMAT-203, the "Hawks," was the Marine Corps' premier attack training squadron responsible for producing fully qualified AV-8B Harrier pilots and ground crew. Tracing its lineage to VMT-1 in 1947, the squadron evolved through multiple designations before becoming VMAT-203 in 1972, initially training replacement aircrew in the A-4 Skyhawk. In 1984, the Hawks became the first Marine squadron to receive the redesigned AV-8B Harrier II, transitioning the entire Marine light attack community into the V/STOL era. Based at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina, under MAG-14 and 2nd MAW, VMAT-203 trained Harrier pilots for over four decades through every variant — from the original AV-8A through night-attack and radar-equipped models. The squadron was decommissioned on October 29, 2021, as the Marine Corps completed its transition to the F-35B Lightning II.
