**Officially Licensed USMC VMAT-102 Skyhawks Sticker — Marine Attack Training Squadron Vinyl Sticker**
VMAT-102 — the squadron that taught a generation of Marine attack pilots how to fly and fight in the legendary A-4 Skyhawk. If you flew Scooters in the Corps, the Skyhawks of 102 got you there.
VMAT-102, the "Skyhawks," was a Marine Attack Training Squadron based at MCAS Yuma, Arizona, responsible for training replacement aircrew for Fleet Marine Force A-4 Skyhawk squadrons. Formed from the merger of VMT-102 and VMA-103 in the late 1960s, VMAT-102 operated the single-seat A-4M and the two-seat TA-4J Skyhawk trainers, putting student naval aviators through the rigorous attack syllabus that prepared them for fleet squadron assignment. The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk — affectionately known as "Heinemann's Hot Rod" or simply "the Scooter" — was the backbone of Marine light attack aviation for decades. VMAT-102 was disestablished at the end of fiscal year 1987 as the Marine Corps transitioned to newer aircraft including the AV-8B Harrier II and F/A-18 Hornet.
