**Officially Licensed USMC VMA(AW)-225 Vikings Sticker — Marine All-Weather Attack Squadron Vinyl Sticker**

The Vikings — first Marine tactical jets at Chu Lai, first Marine fighter squadron into OIF, and the first to fly night ops off the Enterprise. VMA(AW)-225 wrote the book on Marine all-weather attack.

VMA(AW)-225, the "Vikings," was commissioned on January 1, 1943, as VMF-225 at MCAS Mojave, California, flying F4U Corsairs in the Pacific during WWII. The squadron set a record for the most carrier deployments by a Marine squadron, became the first Marine unit to conduct night operations aboard USS Enterprise during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and in June 1965 their A-4 Skyhawks were the first tactical fixed-wing aircraft to land at Chu Lai Air Base in Vietnam. Transitioning to the A-6 Intruder in 1966, the Vikings deployed to Da Nang and used the Intruder's radar to interdict trucks on the Ho Chi Minh Trail day and night. Reactivated in 1991 flying the F/A-18D Hornet, VMFA(AW)-225 was the first Marine fighter squadron deployed to the Middle East for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Now designated VMFA-225, the squadron flies the F-35B Lightning II from MCAS Yuma.
