The Vikings — VMA(AW)-225's all-weather raiders with the A-6 Intruder.

VMA(AW)-225 "Vikings" operated the A-6E Intruder in the all-weather attack role, bringing the Viking raider spirit to deep-strike missions that penetrated enemy air defenses in the worst weather conditions imaginable. The Vikings' Norse namesake captured the squadron's aggressive, expeditionary character — striking from the sea, hitting hard, and disappearing into the night.
