**Officially Licensed US Navy VF-51 Screaming Eagles Sticker — Fighter Squadron Vinyl Sticker**

VF-51 Screaming Eagles — the Pacific Fleet's oldest fighter squadron, where Neil Armstrong flew combat missions and the Navy's jet age literally began. First to fly jets off a carrier. First to take jets into combat. That's the Screaming Eagles.

VF-51 was originally established as VF-1 on 1 February 1943 and became VF-51 on 16 August 1948. In October 1947, the Screaming Eagles became the first Navy squadron to enter the jet age with the North American FJ-1 Fury, conducting the Navy's first all-jet carrier landing at sea aboard USS Boxer on 10 March 1948. On 3 July 1950, VF-51 launched from USS Valley Forge and became one of the first squadrons to take carrier-based jets into combat in Korea, scoring the Navy's first air-to-air kill of the war. Future Apollo 11 commander Neil Armstrong served as a naval aviator in VF-51 during this period. The squadron flew F-8 Crusaders in Vietnam, scoring MiG kills, before transitioning to the F-14A Tomcat in 1978. VF-51 participated in filming Top Gun in 1985 and was disestablished in March 1995 as the Pacific Fleet's oldest continuous fighter squadron.
