**Officially Licensed US Navy VF-31 Tomcatters Sticker — Fighter Squadron Vinyl Sticker**
VF-31 Tomcatters — the only Navy fighter squadron with confirmed aerial kills in three wars. From Pearl Harbor to Baghdad, with Felix the Cat riding a bomb on the tail the entire way.
VF-31 is the second-oldest active Navy squadron, tracing its lineage to VF-1B, commissioned on July 1, 1935, flying Boeing F4B biplanes. As VF-6, the squadron was aboard USS Enterprise during the attack on Pearl Harbor and fought at Wake Island, Marcus Island, Midway, Guadalcanal, and the Eastern Solomons. After a famous designation swap with VF-3 in 1943, the squadron adopted the iconic Felix the Cat insignia and became VF-31 on August 7, 1948. Flying F9F Panthers, F2H Banshees, and F-4 Phantoms, VF-31 scored aerial victories in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam — including a MiG-21 kill in 1972 that made them the only Navy fighter squadron to achieve air combat kills in three wars. VF-31 and USS Saratoga served together for 24 continuous years, the longest carrier-squadron pairing in naval history. The Tomcatters transitioned to the F-14 Tomcat in 1981 and later the F-14D Super Tomcat, becoming the last active Tomcat squadron before redesignating as VFA-31 in 2006, now flying F/A-18E Super Hornets from NAS Oceana.
