**Officially Licensed US Navy VF-2/VFA-2 Bounty Hunters Sticker — Fighter Squadron Vinyl Sticker**
VF-2 Bounty Hunters — Life Magazine called them "The Hottest Fighter Squadron in the Pacific." Established alongside VF-1 as the Navy's first Tomcat squadrons, the Bounty Hunters flew over 550 combat missions in the Gulf War. More than any other tactical squadron in that fight.
The Bounty Hunters' lineage traces to VF-2, first established in 1922 aboard USS Langley — the Navy's very first aircraft carrier. The WWII-era VF-2 flew F6F Hellcats in the Pacific, recording the first ace of the war and earning legendary status before being disestablished in 1945. The current VF-2 was re-established on 14 October 1972 at NAS Miramar alongside VF-1, becoming one of the first two F-14A Tomcat squadrons. The Bounty Hunters deployed aboard USS Enterprise for the Tomcat's inaugural cruise in 1974 and flew air patrols during the evacuation of Saigon in 1975. Through the 1980s, VF-2 deployed with CVW-2 aboard USS Ranger, participating in Operation Earnest Will and Operation Nimble Archer. During Desert Storm in 1991, VF-2 flew over 500 combat missions from Ranger. The squadron transitioned to the F-14D Super Tomcat in 1993, then to the F/A-18F Super Hornet in 2003 as VFA-2. Today, VFA-2 remains active at NAS Lemoore with CVW-2 aboard USS Carl Vinson.
