**Officially Licensed US Navy VF-194 Red Lightning Sticker — Fighter Squadron Vinyl Sticker**
VF-194 Red Lightning — eight Vietnam combat deployments in the cockpit of the last gun fighter the Navy ever flew. When they finally gave up their Crusaders, the squadron literally was the last one holding them.
VF-194 was originally established as VF-91 on March 26, 1952, and redesignated VF-194 on August 1, 1963, joining Carrier Air Wing Nineteen. Between 1964 and 1973, the "Red Lightnings" made eight deployments to Vietnam — two aboard USS Bon Homme Richard, two aboard USS Ticonderoga, and four aboard USS Oriskany — flying the F-8E Crusader from 1965 to 1968 and then the F-8J. VF-194 and sister squadron VF-191 were the last U.S. Navy fighter squadrons equipped with the F-8 Crusader, operating from USS Oriskany, the last active Essex-class aircraft carrier. When Oriskany was retired, VF-194 transitioned to the F-4J Phantom in 1976 and was reassigned to Carrier Air Wing Fifteen alongside VF-191. After a single deployment aboard USS Coral Sea, VF-194 was disestablished on March 1, 1978.
