**Officially Licensed US Navy VA-65 Tigers Sticker — Attack Squadron Vinyl Sticker**

VA-65 "The World Famous Fighting Tigers" — the Intruder drivers who saved the A-6 program during their 1966 Vietnam cruise and were still winning Battle E awards the day the Navy shut them down.

VA-65 traces its lineage to Torpedo Squadron VT-74, established on May 1, 1945, flying SB2C Helldivers from USS Midway during her shakedown cruise. The squadron was redesignated VA-2B in 1946, VA-25 in 1948, and finally VA-65 on July 1, 1959. Nicknamed the "Tigers" from 1950, the squadron transitioned from AD Skyraiders to A-6 Intruders in 1965 and immediately deployed to Vietnam, where their all-weather attack capability during the 1966 cruise is credited with saving the A-6 production line. VA-65 participated in Operation Sea Orbit in 1964, survived the devastating USS Forrestal fire of July 29, 1967, supported operations off Lebanon in 1982, and flew combat missions during Desert Storm in 1991 aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt. Based at NAS Oceana, VA-65 was disestablished on March 31, 1993 — one of the last A-6 Intruder squadrons in the fleet.
