**Officially Licensed US Navy VA-64 Black Lancers Sticker — Attack Squadron Vinyl Sticker**
VA-64 Black Lancers — the A-4 Skyhawk squadron that enforced the Cuban Missile Crisis quarantine, circled the globe on nuclear power, and launched to defend USS Liberty. And they never once set foot in Vietnam.
VA-64, the "Black Lancers," was established at NAS Oceana, Virginia, on July 1, 1961, equipped with A4D-2N (A-4C) Skyhawk light attack jets. The squadron wasted no time seeing action: in October 1962, VA-64 boarded USS Independence with Carrier Air Wing 7 to enforce the naval quarantine around Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis, switching places mid-crisis with VA-34 to operate from USS Enterprise. The Black Lancers deployed to the Mediterranean aboard Enterprise in 1963 and 1964, flying sorties off Cyprus during the island’s 1964 crisis before joining Operation Sea Orbit — the first circumnavigation of the globe by an all-nuclear-powered task force. In June 1967, VA-64 launched A-4Cs to respond to the Israeli attack on USS Liberty. VA-64 was disestablished at NAS Cecil Field on November 7, 1969 — one of the few Navy attack squadrons of its era that never deployed to the Vietnam War zone.
