**Officially Licensed US Navy VA-36 Roadrunners Sticker — Attack Squadron Vinyl Sticker**
VA-36 Roadrunners — two generations of Navy attack aviators carried the Roadrunner patch, from Skyhawk drivers who launched to defend USS Liberty during the Six-Day War to A-6 Intruder crews who struck Baghdad on the first night of Desert Storm.
The first VA-36 was established as Fighter Squadron VF-102 on May 1, 1952, and redesignated VA-36 on July 1, 1955. The Roadrunners completed a world cruise aboard USS Tarawa in 1953–54, visiting 14 ports in 10 countries and transiting both the Suez and Panama Canals. Flying A-4 Skyhawks, they earned over 170 Air Medals during combat operations in 1965–66 and launched from USS America to provide air cover for USS Liberty during the Israeli attack in June 1967. The first VA-36 was disestablished on August 1, 1970. The second VA-36 was reestablished on March 6, 1987, at NAS Oceana, flying A-6E Intruders with Carrier Air Wing 8 aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt. The reborn Roadrunners participated in Desert Storm combat operations from January to February 1991, flew Operation Provide Comfort missions for Kurdish refugees, and struck the Iraqi Intelligence Service HQ in Baghdad in June 1993. VA-36 was finally disestablished on April 1, 1994.
