USS Missouri BB-63 Patch — Iowa-Class Battleship Embroidered Patch
The Mighty Mo — where World War II ended.
USS Missouri (BB-63) is arguably the most famous battleship in American history — the Iowa-class battleship on whose deck the Empire of Japan formally surrendered on September 2, 1945, ending World War II. Now preserved as a museum ship at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, the Mighty Mo stands as an enduring symbol of American victory and the sacrifices that won the war.
USS Missouri's combat career spanned multiple wars. During World War II, she supported the invasions of Iwo Jima and Okinawa with devastating naval gunfire and served as Admiral William "Bull" Halsey's flagship for the Third Fleet. On her deck in Tokyo Bay, General Douglas MacArthur accepted the Japanese Instrument of Surrender in one of the most iconic moments in military history. Missouri was recommissioned in 1986 and saw action during Operation Desert Storm in 1991, launching Tomahawk cruise missiles against Iraqi targets and providing gunfire support — the last time an American battleship fired her guns in anger. Today, moored near the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor, Missouri bookends the Pacific War: Arizona marks its beginning, Missouri its end.
This patch honors the most historic warship in the American fleet.
Perfect For: USS Missouri (BB-63) veterans, World War II surrender ceremony historians, Pearl Harbor museum visitors, and Iowa-class battleship collectors.
