USS Kearsarge (LHD-3), commissioned in 1993, is a Wasp-class amphibious assault ship that deploys Marine Expeditionary Units worldwide. The ship has participated in operations from Kosovo to Afghanistan, Iraq, and humanitarian relief missions including the 2017 response to Hurricanes Irma and Maria in the Caribbean with HSC-26 embarked. Kearsarge operates MV-22B Ospreys, CH-53E Super Stallions, AH-1Z Vipers, and AV-8B Harriers or F-35B Lightning IIs.
