USMC Iraqi Freedom Veteran Patch — Embroidered Patch
From the Berm to Baghdad
Operation Iraqi Freedom sent Marines into some of the most intense urban combat since Vietnam. This patch honors every Marine who served in Iraq — from the initial invasion in March 2003 through the years of counterinsurgency operations that followed. If you crossed the berm into Iraq wearing the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor, this patch marks your service.
The Marine Corps' involvement in Operation Iraqi Freedom began with the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force's drive from Kuwait to Baghdad in March and April 2003, followed by years of sustained combat operations in Anbar Province. Marines fought some of the war's fiercest battles — the two battles of Fallujah, the fighting in Ramadi, Haditha, and Hit — while simultaneously conducting counterinsurgency operations that demanded diplomacy as much as firepower. The Iraq War tested the Marine Corps in ways not seen since Vietnam, requiring adaptability, cultural awareness, and the ability to transition from high-intensity combat to population-centric operations in a single day.
Perfect For:
Iraq War Marine veterans, OIF service members, Anbar Province veterans, 1st MEF personnel, Marine combat veterans, and Iraqi Freedom campaign collectors
From the berm to Baghdad and beyond.
