**Officially Licensed USMC EA-6B Prowler Commemorative Patch — Marine Electronic Warfare Embroidered Patch**
The EA-6B Prowler — 48 years of jamming enemy radars, suppressing air defenses, and making life miserable for anyone who turned on an emitter. This patch honors the aircraft that defined Marine electronic warfare.
The Grumman EA-6B Prowler served as the Marine Corps' primary airborne electronic warfare platform from 1971 until its retirement in March 2019. Crewed by one pilot and up to three electronic countermeasures officers (ECMOs), the Prowler carried the AN/ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming System and AGM-88 HARM missiles, capable of suppressing enemy radar, jamming communications, and collecting electronic intelligence day or night in any weather. Marine Prowler squadrons — VMAQ-1 "Banshees," VMAQ-2 "Death Jesters," VMAQ-3 "Moon Dogs," and VMAQ-4 "Seahawks" — completed more than 90 deployments and accumulated over 264,000 flight hours. From Desert Storm to Iraqi Freedom and Afghanistan, the Prowler flew critical SEAD missions and later adapted to counter-IED operations. The USMC was the last service to fly the EA-6B, with VMAQ-2 conducting the final combat deployment in 2018.
