USMC 2nd Raider Battalion Patches — Embroidered Patch
2nd Marine Raider Battalion — MARSOC
From Carlson's legendary "Long Patrol" on Guadalcanal to modern counterterrorism operations in the Middle East, the name "2nd Raiders" carries a weight of history that few units can match. This patch honors 2nd Marine Raider Battalion — the MARSOC combat battalion aligned to the world's most volatile region.
2nd Marine Raider Battalion (2nd MRB) is a special operations force of the United States Marine Corps and a subordinate combat component of MARSOC. Based at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, the battalion is aligned to U.S. Central Command — the combatant command responsible for the Middle East and Central Asia. The modern 2nd MRB traces its roots to the 2nd Marine Special Operations Battalion, one of two original MSOB units created when MARSOC stood up in 2006. The battalion's personnel were drawn primarily from the Force Reconnaissance community. 2nd MRB was among the first MARSOC units to deploy to Afghanistan in 2007 and has since conducted extensive combat operations, including Village Stability Operations, direct action raids, and counterterrorism missions. The battalion's name honors Carlson's 2nd Raider Battalion of World War II, whose 30-day guerrilla patrol behind Japanese lines on Guadalcanal remains one of the most famous special operations missions in Marine Corps history.
Perfect For: 2nd MRB Raiders, MARSOC personnel, Camp Lejeune special operators, CENTCOM-aligned SOF, and anyone who carries the legacy of Carlson's Raiders.
2nd Marine Raider Battalion — the legacy continues.
