**Officially Licensed US Navy VA-81 Sunliners Sticker — Attack Squadron Vinyl Sticker**

VA-81 Sunliners — they were the first Atlantic Fleet A-7E squadron and splashed two Libyan MiGs during the 1981 Gulf of Sidra incident. Not bad for an attack squadron.

VA-81, the "Sunliners," was an Atlantic Fleet attack squadron based at NAS Cecil Field, Florida. The squadron made history as the first Atlantic Fleet unit to receive the A-7E Corsair II in 1970, and went on to fly the type with distinction for over a decade. Operating from carriers including USS Forrestal, USS Saratoga, and USS Nimitz, the Sunliners deployed extensively to the Mediterranean and participated in combat operations during the Vietnam War. On August 19, 1981, two VF-41 F-14 Tomcats from the same carrier air wing shot down two Libyan Su-22s during the Gulf of Sidra incident — an event where VA-81 aircraft were also operating. The Sunliners were redesignated VFA-81, transitioning to the F/A-18C Hornet, and later scored kills during Desert Storm.
