Officially Licensed US Navy VA-36 Roadrunners - Attack Squadron 36 (VA-36) Roadrunners United States Navy Officially Licensed Embroidered Patch.

Roadrunners speed, strike identity, and carrier attack heritage stitched into one officially licensed piece of naval aviation history.

The VA-36 Roadrunners name traces back to 1949, when the predecessor unit VF-102 adopted the Roadrunners nickname that would define the designation across two separate squadrons. The first VA-36 was established on 1 July 1955 and flew combat missions from USS Enterprise off the coast of Vietnam beginning in December 1965, earning over 170 Air Medals during that deployment. The second VA-36 was established on 6 March 1987 at NAS Oceana, Virginia, flying the A-6E Intruder as part of Carrier Air Wing 8 aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt. That squadron deployed on Roosevelt's maiden cruise to the Mediterranean, flew combat sorties during Operation Desert Storm in 1991, supported Operation Provide Comfort for Kurdish refugees in northern Iraq, and enforced the UN no-fly zone over southern Iraq during Operation Southern Watch before being disestablished on 1 April 1994. Two squadrons, four decades of carrier attack heritage, and a callsign that carried real strike weight across Vietnam, the Mediterranean, and the Arabian Gulf all connect to this embroidered patch. The embroidered construction gives the insignia the classic squadron feel that collectors, veterans, and naval aviation historians expect from a piece tied to a disestablished attack community.

Perfect For: Navy attack aviation veterans, A-4 Skyhawk and A-6E Intruder aircrew, VA-36 alumni, Carrier Air Wing 8 collectors, USS Theodore Roosevelt cruise book displays, Operation Desert Storm memorabilia collections, NAS Oceana alumni, shadow boxes, reunion gifts, challenge coin and patch boards, and anyone building a serious naval aviation collection around the Atlantic Fleet attack community and the carrier squadrons that defined it from Vietnam through the Gulf War era.

Roadrunners heritage, carrier-proven and officially licensed for the collection board and the shadow box.
