**Officially Licensed US Navy VA-209 Air Barons Sticker — Reserve Attack Squadron Vinyl Sticker**
VA-209 Air Barons — the Naval Air Reserve's aerobatic showpiece. Airline pilots, teachers, and civilians by day, A-4 Skyhawk attack pilots by weekend. Twice a Citizen.
VA-209, the "Air Barons," was established on July 1, 1970, at NAS Glenview, Illinois, as part of a reorganization to increase the combat readiness of the Naval Air Reserve Force. Flying A-4L Skyhawks, the squadron inherited the legacy of the famous Air Barons aerobatic demonstration team, which had been dazzling airshow crowds since 1958. The Air Barons team — composed entirely of reserve pilots who held civilian careers as airline captains, teachers, and business professionals — flew precision formation routines in Cougars, FJ-4B Furies, and Skyhawks under the motto "Twice a Citizen." The team even performed air-to-air refueling demonstrations in front of the public. VA-209 was disestablished in the early 1970s.
