**Officially Licensed US Navy VA-195 Dam Busters Sticker — Attack Squadron Vinyl Sticker**
VA-195 Dam Busters — they torpedoed a dam in Korea when bombs wouldn't do the job. If that's not the most Navy thing you've ever heard, you haven't been paying attention.
VA-195, the "Dam Busters," was established as Torpedo Squadron VT-19 on August 15, 1943, flying TBM Avengers in the Pacific during WWII. On May 1, 1951, flying AD-4 Skyraiders from USS Princeton during the Korean War, the squadron delivered aerial torpedoes against the heavily defended Hwacheon Dam in North Korea — a target that had defeated every previous bombing attempt by Air Force and Navy aircraft. VA-195 finally accomplished the mission, earning the legendary "Dambusters" nickname. The squadron went on to fly close air support at the Chosin Reservoir, strike hydroelectric plants on the Yalu River, and participate in major joint strikes against Pyongyang. VA-195 later flew A-4 Skyhawks during the Vietnam War from USS Bon Homme Richard and USS Ticonderoga, logging more combat hours than any other squadron in CVW-19. Redesignated VFA-195 in 1985, the Dambusters continue to serve today.
