**Officially Licensed US Navy VA-163 Saints Sticker — Attack Squadron Vinyl Sticker**

VA-163 Saints — a squadron whose roster reads like a who's who of Vietnam-era courage. Senator John McCain flew with the Saints. James Stockdale was shot down in a Saints Skyhawk. Enough said.

VA-163, the "Saints," was established on September 1, 1960, at NAS Cecil Field, Florida, before moving to NAS Lemoore, California. Flying the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk exclusively throughout its operational career, the Saints made six Pacific Fleet cruises, including four brutal combat deployments during the Vietnam War — primarily aboard USS Oriskany with CVW-16. The Saints suffered devastating losses: 14 aircraft destroyed by enemy action, with five pilots killed, five captured, and two severely wounded. Among the notable POWs were LCDR John McCain III (later U.S. Senator and presidential candidate) and CDR James Stockdale, who received the Medal of Honor. Three Saints pilots earned the Navy Cross for extraordinary combat heroism. The squadron also endured the tragic USS Oriskany fire of October 1966. VA-163 was disestablished in July 1971.
