**Officially Licensed US Navy VA-113 Stingers Sticker — Attack Squadron Vinyl Sticker**
VA-113 Stingers — from Bearcats over Korea to the first operational Hornet deployment, the Stingers have been "First and Finest" since 1948.
VA-113, the "Stingers," was established as Fighter Squadron VF-113 on July 15, 1948, at NAS San Diego. Flying F4U-4B Corsairs, the squadron flew its first combat strikes in August 1950 from USS Philippine Sea during the Korean War, including support for the Inchon landings. Redesignated VA-113 in 1956, the Stingers transitioned through F9F Panthers, F9F-8 Cougars, A-4 Skyhawks, and A-7E Corsair IIs. The squadron flew six combat deployments to Vietnam from carriers including USS Kitty Hawk, USS Enterprise, and USS Ranger, earning the Wade McClusky Award as the Navy's outstanding attack squadron. In 1982, VA-113 surpassed 40,000 accident-free flight hours — the longest such streak in the entire Navy A-7 community. Redesignated VFA-113 in 1983, the Stingers completed the first operational fleet deployment of the F/A-18 Hornet in 1985.
