**Officially Licensed US Navy VA-105 Mad Dogs Sticker — Attack Squadron Vinyl Sticker**

VA-105 Mad Dogs — they flew Skyraiders off the deck of USS Bennington and had their birds over Beirut before the Marines even hit the beach in '58.

VA-105, the "Mad Dogs," was commissioned on May 1, 1952, at NAS Cecil Field, Florida, flying the AD-1 Skyraider. Originally known as the "Cannoneers," the squadron adopted the Mad Dogs nickname in 1954. Operating from carriers including USS Bennington and USS Essex, the Mad Dogs flew close air support missions during the 1958 Lebanon Crisis, becoming the first aircraft on station during the U.S. Marine landings in Beirut. The squadron flew AD-6 Skyraiders and conducted road and border reconnaissance sorties throughout the operation. VA-105 was disestablished on February 1, 1959. The VA-105 designation was later reactivated in 1968 as the "Gunslingers," flying A-7 Corsair IIs in Vietnam and eventually becoming VFA-105.
