Operating UH-1 Huey gunships from makeshift bases and LSTs throughout the Mekong Delta during the Vietnam War, the Seawolves provided close air support for Navy SEALs, riverine patrol forces, and ground operations in some of the war's most dangerous territory. HAL-3 crews flew low-level combat missions with extraordinary bravery, earning a reputation that has become legendary in the helicopter attack community.
