Officially Licensed USMC VMFT-401 Snipers Sticker - Marine Fighter Training Squadron 401 (VMFT-401) Lucky Snipers Officially Licensed Vinyl Sticker.
Lucky Snipers adversary identity, MCAS Yuma aggressor energy, and the only F-5N Tiger II squadron in the Marine Corps Reserve on a single durable sticker.
VMFT-401 was commissioned on March 18, 1986 at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Arizona, and built from the ground up to fill a critical gap in Marine aviation readiness. When the Corps adopted the F/A-18 Hornet in the 1980s, its aircrews needed a dedicated opposing force to sharpen their air-to-air skills against dissimilar aircraft, and the Lucky Snipers answered that call. The squadron first flew Israeli-built F-21A Kfirs before transitioning to the F-5N Tiger II in 1989, a nimble and cost-effective platform that continues to replicate peer and near-peer threat profiles for Marine fighter and attack squadrons across the country. The bulk of the squadron's annual workload centers on the semiannual Weapons and Tactics Instructor course run by MAWTS-1 at MCAS Yuma, where Snipers pilots push fleet crews to their limits in realistic dissimilar air combat training scenarios. The Commandant of the Marine Corps recognized VMFT-401 for surpassing 50,000 mishap-free flight hours, a milestone reached in July 2010 after a streak dating back to October 1995. That record reflects the discipline, professionalism, and sustained excellence that define this one-of-a-kind Reserve adversary unit.
Perfect for VMFT-401 alumni, Marine Reserve aviation veterans, F-5 Tiger II enthusiasts, MCAS Yuma station personnel, WTI course graduates, Marine aviation collectors, aggressor and adversary community supporters, shadow box builders, gear and helmet bag displays, and anyone who wants to represent the squadron that makes Marine fighter pilots sharper every time they strap in. It also suits families and supporters who understand what it means to fly as the bad guys so that the good guys come home better prepared.
Lucky Snipers heritage, officially licensed, and built to stick wherever Marine aviation pride belongs.
