Officially Licensed VAQ-136 Gauntlets Throwback Patch — The Jammers of WESTPAC
When the enemy turns on their radar, the Gauntlets make them regret it.
VAQ-136 was established on April 6, 1973, at NAS Whidbey Island as the fifth operational EA-6B Prowler squadron in the Navy — and the first with no heritage passed down from a previous squadron, building its reputation entirely from scratch. Within ten weeks of commissioning, the Gauntlets were carrier-qualified and deploying with CVW-11 aboard USS Kitty Hawk. For nearly two decades forward-deployed in Japan, VAQ-136 earned the Pacific Fleet Battle "E" and the Radford Award as the best EA-6B squadron in the Navy, became the first Prowler squadron to fly in support of Operation Southern Watch, and was named "Prowler Squadron of the Year for Tactical Excellence" in 1994. After transitioning to the EA-18G Growler in 2013, the Gauntlets joined Carrier Air Wing Two aboard USS Carl Vinson, continuing their legacy of electronic dominance. This throwback patch pays tribute to the Gauntlets' Prowler-era heritage.
Perfect For: VAQ-136 alumni and current Gauntlets, EA-6B Prowler and EA-18G Growler crews, CVW-5 and CVW-2 veterans, and anyone who operates in the electromagnetic spectrum.
At the tip of the sword — where the electrons fight first.
