Officially Licensed US Navy USS Idaho SSN-799 Patch - Virginia-class fast-attack submarine USS Idaho (SSN-799), officially licensed embroidered patch, commissioned April 25, 2026.

Esto Perpetua — the motto of the Gem State and the battle cry of the Navy's newest nuclear fast-attack submarine, built to run deep, run quiet, and run long.

USS Idaho (SSN-799) is the 26th Virginia-class fast-attack submarine and the eighth Block IV variant of the class, commissioned on April 25, 2026, at Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton, Connecticut. Constructed by General Dynamics Electric Boat, the submarine displaces 7,800 tons, stretches 377 feet in length, and carries an armament of Mk-48 torpedoes and BGM-109 Tomahawk missiles across twelve VLS tubes. The Block IV configuration reduces maintenance periods and increases operational availability while preserving the class's full multi-mission profile, which spans anti-submarine warfare, strike operations, special warfare support, and intelligence gathering. The Idaho name carries real naval weight: the fifth U.S. Navy vessel to bear it, SSN-799 follows a lineage that includes a World War II battleship that earned seven battle stars at Iwo Jima and Okinawa. The state connection runs deeper than geography — Idaho hosts the Navy's Acoustic Research Detachment on Lake Pend Oreille, one of the quietest and deepest bodies of water in the country, long used to test submarine acoustic systems. This officially licensed embroidered patch marks the commissioning era of a boat built for decades of undersea service.

Perfect For: U.S. Navy submarine veterans, Virginia-class enthusiasts, USS Idaho crew members and their families, Naval Submarine Base New London alumni, fast-attack submarine collectors, shadow box builders, deployment keepsake displays, challenge coin and patch boards, reunion gifts, and anyone honoring the lineage of American nuclear undersea power. It is especially meaningful for Idahoans who take pride in the state's deep and often overlooked naval heritage, from Lake Pend Oreille acoustic testing to the commissioning of the newest boat to carry the Gem State's name.

Gem State pride, nuclear-powered and stitched for the deep.
