Officially Licensed USMC VMM-166 Seaelk Sticker — Gone But Never Forgotten

The SeaElk rode the tides from Tustin to Miramar and everywhere in between.

VMM-166 "SeaElk" was a United States Marine Corps tiltrotor squadron flying the MV-22B Osprey out of MCAS Miramar, California. Activated in 1985 as HMM-166 at MCAS Tustin — making it the youngest CH-46 Sea Knight squadron in the Marine Corps — the SeaElk spent decades as the aviation combat element for the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit. The squadron saw action in Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Restore Hope, Support Hope, Southern Watch, and Iraqi Freedom, including combat operations during the Battle of Najaf in 2004. In 2007, as part of the 11th MEU, HMM-166 flew 29 humanitarian missions over Bangladesh following Tropical Cyclone Sidr, delivering over 54,000 pounds of food and supplies. The squadron transitioned to the MV-22 Osprey in 2010 before being decommissioned on October 1, 2021, as part of the Marine Corps' Force Design 2030 restructuring. This sticker keeps the SeaElk legacy alive for everyone who served with this storied squadron.

Perfect For: VMM-166 SeaElk Marines and veterans, HMM-166 alumni, 11th MEU veterans, MCAS Miramar squadrons, CH-46 and MV-22 community members, and anyone who remembers the SeaElk.

VMM-166 — decommissioned, never deactivated in our hearts.
