VMM-166, the SeaElk, flew MV-22 Ospreys out of MCAS Miramar, San Diego, for 36 years before deactivating in October 2021 as part of Force Design 2030. From their activation in 1985 through deployments with the 11th MEU to the Battle of Najaf, humanitarian missions over Bangladesh after Tropical Cyclone Sidr, and operations spanning Desert Storm to Inherent Resolve, the SeaElk earned a reputation as one of the most versatile tiltrotor squadrons in the Marine Corps. The Party Moose sticker captures the lighter side of squadron culture — because even combat-hardened Marines need a good morale patch. This is the SeaElk at their most irreverent.
