Officially Licensed USMC VMA-241 (Sons of Satan) Patch — Forged in the Fires of Midway
Because when you lose 75% of your squadron and still come back swinging, you earn the right to that name.
VMA-241, the Sons of Satan, traces its lineage to one of the most harrowing chapters in Marine Corps aviation history. Originally commissioned as VMSB-241 at Midway Atoll in March 1942, the squadron fought in the Battle of Midway just three months later, losing 23 of 30 aircraft and suffering devastating casualties in their attack against the Japanese carrier task force. The squadron went on to provide close air support during the Philippines Campaign of 1944-45 before eventually joining the Marine Air Reserve at NAS Los Alamitos. This patch honors a squadron that earned its savage nickname the hard way.
Perfect For: VMA-241 alumni, Marine attack aviation historians, Midway battle enthusiasts, and anyone who respects a squadron that stared down impossible odds.
Born at Midway. Baptized in fire. The Sons of Satan don't die easy.
