Officially Licensed USMC Quantico Weapons Training Battalion (WTBn) patch.
Every Marine a rifleman — Quantico WTBn writes the doctrine.
Weapons Training Battalion (WTBn) at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia is the Marine Corps' proponent for all facets of small arms combat marksmanship — the focal point for marksmanship doctrine, training, competition, equipment, and weapons in the Corps. WTBn writes and publishes the marksmanship training circulars used by every Marine Corps rifle range from MCRD San Diego to Camp Pendleton, and it is the home of the Marine Corps Shooting Team and the Marine Corps Attack Drone Team. Inside the battalion is the Precision Weapons Section — the famous "RTE" (Rifle Team Equipment) shop — with roots going back to December 1966 at Quantico. The RTE shop opened officially on June 26, 1968, moved into WTBn in August 1972, and beginning that same year started the full-scale production of the Marine Corps' precision weapons: the M40A1 Sniper Rifle, the National Match M14, and the National Match M1911 pistol. Today the section turns out the M40A5 Sniper Rifle, the M39 Enhanced Marksman Rifle, the MEU(SOC) .45 Caliber Pistol, the National Match M16, and the National Match M9 — building the rifles that put rounds on target at the Wimbledon Cup, the Interservice Matches, and the National Trophy Matches at Camp Perry. WTBn lives the truth that every Marine is a rifleman — they're the ones who make sure of it. This patch carries the Quantico marksmanship lineage.
Perfect For: Weapons Training Battalion Marines, Marine Corps Shooting Team members, Precision Weapons Section armorers, Quantico-stationed Marines, USMC marksmanship instructors, distinguished rifle and pistol shooters, and Marine Corps small arms heritage collectors.
Quantico WTBn — every Marine a rifleman, doctrine to bullets.
