Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic, headquartered at Naval Support Activity Charleston in South Carolina, is an Echelon III activity of the Department of the Navy whose mission spans research, development, prototyping, engineering, test and evaluation, and sustainment of integrated information warfare capabilities across every warfighting domain. The center's Expeditionary Warfare Department maintains a dedicated Marine Corps focus, housing the MAGTF Command and Control Systems and Applications team that delivers software development, C2 data analytics, and systems integration directly in support of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force. The department also serves as the lead systems integrator for Marine Corps edge-to-enterprise C4ISR technologies that include geolocation, next-generation sensors, networking-on-the-move, and advanced optical communications. Each year, the Expeditionary Intelligence Solutions Division coordinates the System of Systems Naval Integration Experiment, deploying Marine Corps software and hardware to a live range where engineers and scientists push C4ISR systems to their operational limits. NIWC Atlantic engineers have worked alongside Marines at Camp Lejeune and beyond, evaluating emerging technologies for real-world warfighter application and advancing USMC communication systems, vehicle integration, and expeditionary command and control.
